In 2005 the TUC funded a number of migrant worker organising projects in the regions. This report details the Northern TUC project which sort to recruit and organise Polish workers in the construction sector in the North East of England. The report details the nature of the sector at a regional level, the growing influence of migrant workers, and the type of condtions these Polish workers were found to be working under. It goes on to detail the developing strategy used by UCATT, and the project team, to engage with thse workers.
