Earlier this year the TUC established a Commission on Vulnerable Employment. The Commission is undertaking a major investigation into the causes of, and solutions to, unfair treatment at work in the UK. It is comprised of 16 senior figures from business, civil society, academia and trade unions, and will be publishing its final report in Summer 2008.
We are now intiving evidence submissions to the Commission. The scope of our Commission’s work is wide – we are looking at employment across all sorts of different jobs and sectors. Groups of workers we are giving particular consideration to include agency workers, migrant workers, homeworkers, casual workers and those working informally. We are interested both in formal responses to our consultation questions, and in seperate reports or papers that you feel could inform the Commission's deliberations. The deadline for responses to the consultation is the 30th November 2007. We very much hope that you will be able to contribute.
