Union Modernisation Fund - A Joint UIN, TUC and Unions21 Seminar
The purpose of this seminar is to look at the progress so far on the UMF and to generate ideas about where the UMF process might take unions.
This seminar will look at the work of the Union Modernisation Fund and highlight some of the projects which have been supported during Round One of the Fund. It will also provide a broader context for discussions around modernisation, and give unions an opportunity to discuss potential ideas for Round Two, building on the experience of unions from Round One.
Monday 29 January, 9.30 - 13.30, Congress House, London
Speakers include: Jim Fitzpatrick MP (Employment Relations Minister), Frances O'Grady (TUC Deputy General Secretary), Diana Holland (TGWU Equalities National Officer) and David Yeandle (Engineering Employers' Federation).
The event will be chaired by Sir Bill Connor, Chair of the UMF Supervisory Board.
Lunch provided.
The event is free but please register using the form below.

This is the third TUC briefing on Round Two of the Union Modernisation Fund. The formal call for applications will be made on 20 November, when a copy of the application pack will be sent to trade unions directly and placed on the DTI website.
The pack will contain information on the UMF and how it works, details of application procedures and an application form. In the meantime, unions may wish to start considering whether they wish to make a bid for UMF funds. One of the recommendations of the Women and Work Commission was that that a capacity-building programme be funded through the UMF to support training for equality reps. Equality reps feature as a priority theme for Round Two of the UMF.
