Thanks for that Paul. I don't get it - EIRO reckons that between 1998 and 2003 your membership grew by 11%. If that's right then it seems like a wacky situation: unions to have a high degree of influence at "the top", along with hight and growing density, but no real clout where it counts, at workplace level. Is partnership at workplace level being really actively resisted, then?
