Flexible labour and informalisation in post-communism. - 08/09/2006 17:18
This thread discusses the Content article: Flexible labour and informalisation in post-communism.
I was interested in your suggestion of collusion by workers in new labour practices. My research was amongst young managers in City Banks. There collusion took a different form. One respondent claimed that training being offered by an employer decided her when applying for jobs after graduation. The employer with the most training was the most favoured. This was because she saw herself as primarily responsible for her own career manageement. Should the employer fail, or sack her, she would have an "edge" over other applicants. This has implications for Human Resources in future. You can see my research on my website www.whywork.org.uk
