RESEARCH STUDENTSHIP OR BURSARY FURTHER PARTICULARS
Research studentships are offered to students wishing to undertake a PhD or MRes programme on a full-time basis. All studentships are highly competitive and you should ensure (and demonstrate) that there is a good match between your own qualifications and interests and those being sought for the particular studentship.
The Institute welcomes applications from individuals wishing to study for a PhD in the area of Industrial Relations. For this scholarship, preference will be given to candidates interested in pursuing research in the following areas of interest:
• Public-sector employment; (Professor Roger Seifert, Dr Carole Thornley, Dr Mike Ironside)
• Work/life balance; (Dr Steve French and Dr Gary Daniels)
• Historical studies in industrial relations (Professor John McIlroy, Dr Dave Lyddon).
Available from 25th September 2006
These studentships are for new applicants for full-time PhD study only. They include funding for three years to cover fees for PhD registration (at home/EU rates) and a research studentship stipend of £12,300 per annum (2006/7 rates).
