24-7 Work-life Balance Survey - 13/10/2006 08:59
We are seeking trade union support for this year’s 24-7 Work-life Balance Survey. This is an annual survey jointly run by the Work Life Balance Centre in Leicestershire, the Centre of Industrial Relations at Keele University and Coventry University. The survey is an internet based questionnaire which will run from 28th September to November 15th 2006. The findings for this year's survey will be reported in February 2007. The survey website is: http://www.24-7survey.co.uk/
The survey asks workers to highlight the problems they encounter with their 'work-life' balance. An analysis of last year's report can be found at: http://uin.org.uk/content/view/70/66/
Sections include:
1. Job details and employer policies related to work-life balance 2. Questions about an employee's health 3. The impact of work upon leisure time and issues that would improve the work life balance 4. Knowledge of and coverage by the Working Time and ICE Regulations
The main problem we face is getting information about the survey out to workers.
We hope it would be possible for unions to give official support to the survey and publicise it amongst the membership - notably through an official link on the union website or in membership publications.
