I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Keele. My doctoral thesis is centred on trade union characteristics in the civil service unions. I am trying to explain why certain sections within this union movement appear to me more militant than others, and test whether changes in bargaining levels impact on militancy. My main focus is on the DWP (and its former constituents) and the MoD. If there any activists or academics have experience in these areas (particularly the MoD), I would be interested to talk to them.
